Armed Forces Day in the UK has a rich history, having been established in 2006. Initially known as Veterans’ Day, it was created to honour the men and women who have served in the British Armed Forces. The day was rebranded in 2009 to include a broader celebration of current service members alongside veterans. Held annually in June, Armed Forces Day has grown in significance, becoming a nationwide celebration with events hosted in communities large and small.
The 2024 Armed Forces Day in Jordanstown Loughshore Park was a testament to this tradition, bringing together the community in a vibrant display of support and appreciation for the Armed Forces.
