Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to www.nivco.co.uk

We want as many of you as possible to be able to use our website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your own stylesheet
  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader
  • Jump to content, including the search box, menus and the main content area
  • Read captions in videos we publish

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible our website is

We are committed to making our website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is almost fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

The embedded Twitter feed on our homepage does not fully comply with colour contrast guidelines.

Photos from events in our galleries do not contain alt tags, but do include captions.

Reporting accessibility problems with our website

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of our website.

If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, please get in touch via our contacts page.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’).

If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI)

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are constantly working to improve the accessibility of our website and carry out manual and automated tests throughout the year on a random selection of content.
